E Disease Investigator (CDI) in the program is to advise HCV infected patients on actions to minimize their risk of further liver damage. Persons infected with HCV are at increased risk of further liver disease and damage if they acquire either the hepatitis A or B virus. Collaboration with the Arizona Immunization Program Office (AIPO): In 2000, the Arizona Immunization Program Office (AIPO) received some short-dated adult hepatitis A vaccine donated from one vaccine manufacturer, and a monetary donation from another. The immunization program made arrangements with the Maricopa County Health Department to exchange the short-dated vaccine for some longer dated hepatitis A and B adult vaccine. With this donated vaccine, AIPO collaborated with the ADHS Hepatitis C Program to begin offering the adult vaccine to Hepatitis C Program uninsured clients needing vaccinations.
